Sandyport on Nassau

If Location is the mantra of Bahamas real estate, then the gated community of Sandyport on western New Providence in the Bahamas gets top marks.

Sandyport is located just off the shore road about three miles from Nassau International Airport and six miles from downtown Nassau. To the west, the shore road is studded with beautiful white sand beaches, homes and condos and a sprinkling of restaurants. The Cable Beach resort area and more homes lie to the east.

Sandyport real estate is sort after by a well-heeled clientele of both Bahamian and international buyers. It may have been inspired by Venice, but the Sandyport marina village showcases all the pretty pastel colours of the islands and is distinctly Bahamian in flavour.

With a sandy white beach, a church and restaurants just outside the gate, the private enclave of pretty canal front homes with docking offers wide appeal. Tennis courts, swimming pools and playgrounds provide a laid-back place for adults and children to play, socialise and stay fit. A shopping centre is conveniently located at the Olde Towne Marina east of the homes outside the security gate. Various shops, restaurants, pubs, a gas station, medical clinic, church and fitness gym stretch along the shore road. There are a number of pre-schools in the area and the Lyford Cay International School is located on the western tip of the island, approximately five miles away.

Sandyport real estate is high end and values generally range from $500,000 to a few million dollars. Sandyport real estate sales have been well received and the property is popular because of the location and lifestyle.
